Hannah

Call for Presenters: Annual State Conference February 5-6, 2016

The Minnesota Association for the Education of Young Children (MnAEYC) and the Minnesota School-Age Care Alliance seek workshop proposals for the 2016 conference titled "Expand the Circle".

Have any of these thoughts crossed your mind?

· "Sure, I love the MnAEYC-MnSACA Annual State Conference, but why would the selection committee pick ME to present?”

· "I’ve never even been to the MnAEYC-MnSACA Annual State Conference. I’m sure I wouldn’t get picked as a speaker.”

· "I’ve only presented to small groups before.”

If you’ve had any thoughts like this and you work in the early childhood and school-age care fields, we’re here to personally invite you to propose a breakout session for the 2016 MnAEYC-MnSACA Annual State Conference on February 5-6 at the St. Paul RiverCentre.

The MnAEYC-MnSACA Annual State Conference is the premier event for professionals educating children and youth, with nearly 1,000 participants attending. Sessions should meet the professional and personal development needs of program directors & coordinators, teachers, and front-line staff. Breakout sessions should present best practices, innovative and evidence-based strategies, research and resources in a variety of topic areas.

We are committed to creating a diverse, safe, and welcoming space for participants to learn and share. We want to make sure we receive conference session proposals from the widest audience as possible, including from you!

All workshop proposals are welcome and will be considered. We will give special attention to those that incorporate the theme of this year's conference: "Expand the Circle". Are you practicing cultural competence with program staff or community? What are you doing to be inclusive, to honor individual culture (informed by race, language, geography, veteran status, gender, age, faith, interest, ability, etc.), to promote individuality, and to encourage innovative collaboration?

Submitting proposals is easy! Simply complete the online proposal form here.

The deadline to submit a proposal is Friday, July 31 at 5 p.m.
